A card belongs to a customer and is linked to an account (individual or joint)

Types of cards

Shaype is offering two types of card, Physical or Virtual.

The type can be selected at the time of card creation and is managed through the utilisation of various API endpoints.

Physical Card

• The physical card will be printed and sent to the delivery address provided in the create card request.
• It's important to note that physical cards cannot be converted into virtual cards this can only be achieved by creating a new card with a new PAN (Primary Account Number).
• Upon ordering, physical cards will be dispatched in a status AWAITING_ACTIVATION , and it is expected that the customer will activate the card upon receipt.

Virtual Card

• Virtual cards differ from physical in that customers will not receive a plastic card to use, but it will still consist of a PAN, expiry date and cvv which can be used to make online purchases.
• Designs are still provided and can be showcased on the customers profile or App.
• A virtual card will be issued in an ACTIVE state.
